Transparent, passionate, and unapologetic.
Ky Johnson is a multidisciplinary artist originally from Hopewell, Virginia, now creating and thriving in Dallas, Texas. Rooted in love and guided by personal experience, Ky’s work spans bold canvas paintings, hand-painted ceramics, and mixed media pieces that reflect identity, emotion, and cultural pride.
While Ky has a rich background in music—performing at weddings, community events, and releasing original songs that speak to themes of healing, justice, and joy—visual art has become the newest heartbeat of her creative expression. Through vibrant color, textured layering, and intentional symbolism, her art invites viewers to feel, reflect, and connect.
From cover art for musicians to commissioned paintings that tackle social issues, Ky’s work is deeply personal and proudly Black. She is also the voice of Mickey, aka “Chant,” in the anime series Bond of the Blade by Animaine Sparkster.
This space is a growing archive of Ky’s artistic journey, with visual art now at the center. Every piece is created with purpose—meant to spark conversation, radiate beauty, and leave a mark.
